Erica Binder began dancing at four years old and competed for twelve years. She continued her studies in Dance at York University where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance.  She excelled at courses in Anatomy, Dance Kinesiology, Dance Injuries, and Dance and the Child. She is an Associate with B.A.T.D, and is Body Art Certified. She most recently attained her 500 h Comprehensive Pilates Teaching Certification to teach on each apparatus, and is working with Disney Cruise Lines choreographing for Toronto DCL Auditions.

Erica is consistently working to attain new certifications in dance, conditioning and safe movement techniques. She has been teaching competitive, recreational and many in-school programs for over a decade, while also performing professionally in Toronto. She has worked for companies like The Travelling Stage, Diversified Theatre and many local dance studios across the GTA. She has also worked with Whitby Figure Skating Club as their off ice dance teacher.

Some of Erica’s most memorable performances were for Canada’s Wonderland, three seasons of Illuminite at Yonge and Dundas Square, and King Triton's concert in Tokyo Disney Sea.

Erica travelled to Los Angeles to audition for Tokyo Disney Sea in 2018 and landed the star role as an Aerialist performer in King Triton’s Concert. She lived abroad in Japan for 15 months with many other talented artists from the UK, Australia, USA, Russia, France and other parts of Canada. Since a very early age, Erica has always dreamed of opening a dance studio of her own. Erica's mission in dance is to teach in a way that builds the dancer's self esteem and create a supportive, but challenging learning environment.

Erica partnered with BeaYOUtiful foundation in 2021, and holds an annual confidence workshop for young girls.  She looks forward to her opportunity with the "Inspired by HER" conference in Spring 2024.

Stage Door Academy of Dance holds workshops and intensives for new and current dancers. There are many opportunities at SDA to work with industry professionals who have performed in prestigious shows worldwide. Erica looks forward to meeting every dancer she will have the privilege of teaching at Stage Door Academy of Dance.
